It’s my last day with MediaSpark

I’m moving on to another position… So as of January 3rd, 2012 I’ll be working with Fuel Industries (@fuelindustries) in Ottawa.

Wait! Ottawa you say? But Robb, we thought you lived in Nova Scotia.

Yes, I am moving to Ottawa at the end of the month, my lovely wife and the kids will be staying until we get our bearings, then in a bit the whole gang can move. Maybe sooner, maybe later. A lot of that depends on sale and purchase of a new home.

By the way, anyone know of anyone looking to by a beautiful, spacious, modernized, century home in Cape Breton?

I know a guys who is selling one… Winking smile

How to Shoot Yourself in the Foot in Any Programming Language

This is an oldie (2006) but funny and still relevant:

How to Shoot Yourself in the Foot in Any Programming Language

a few of my faves:

JAVA
After importing java.awt.right.foot.* and java.awt.gun.right.hand.*, and writing the classes and methods of those classes needed, you’ve forgotten what the hell you’re doing

(personally I prefer Swing…)

C#
Copy how Java shot itself in the foot. Explain how you did it better.

C#
You can create and shoot a gun in C#, but you can’t shoot your foot in managed code. You didn’t know that?

Javascript
You’ve perfected a robust, rich user experience for shooting yourself in the foot. You then find that bullets are disabled on your gun.

(what… no feature sniffing?)
