Atkins – 1 week in

I am too big. I have been too big most of my adult life. I needed to change that and after trying many other things have found the No-carb / Atkins way of eating to be the most effective.

This week I dropped ~5 lbs. a great start I say. I was hugely skeptical about the logic and science behind Atkins but it is working for me. I do have more energy, am less prone to cravings or hunger attacks and feel better overall.

It has been difficult though – we are out at Cape Breton Bible Camp for family camp this weekend and most of the food served is pretty heavy on the carbs. But I have been able to make wise choices about my food and if I can’t eat anything offered have brought some food of my own to get me through – chicken, nuts, pepperoni, cream cheese and celery…

I can’t wait to weigh in and see how I did!
