So long and thanks for all the fish!

I can never resist the opportunity to throw a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy quote out there…

I’m saying good-bye on behalf of my former company Cape Breton Web Design. It was a good run from 2009 to 2012. We created quite a few successful sites for local businesses around Sydney, Glace Bay and other parts of Cape Breton Island. It was a pleasure getting to know some of the local entrepreneurs and business owners and helping them launch or update a modern website.

As it goes all thing come to an end… So I will no longer be taking on any private web development work under that business name. I will, however, continue operating RWCorbett.ca if you need to contact me regarding any web design or development.

Dear Google – Why is Gmail now ugly?

Gmail is still my goto email solution – I can use it to aggregate accounts, tie into all my other Google-centric services and access it from pretty much anywhere. But lately with all of the interface changes that Google has been releasing Gmail pulled a real ugly one (IMO – your milage my vary).

When you are viewing your inbox the border changes from this:

To this? Why does the border need to disappear when viewing the message?

It leaves the “Inbox” tab hanging out on it’s own when before it was nicely joined to the border. And why can we not have the *New* interface in Gmail yet anyways – we have it for Google Calendar:

I do like a constant look and feel to things when I use them day-in, day-out. But like I said, your milage may vary.
